The cute marks on her nose are from carpet burns inflicted during an indoor gymnastics demonstration, by the way 🙂
The Mummy has had a routine op this week & we were going in to the hospital to see her for the first time.
We brought in chocolates, crisps & fruit, & there was even some left over for Mummy after Jake & Ellie had very kindly helped her eat them…
Ellie & Jake wanted to make a special effort for her. They crafted some beautiful cards for her (more on that later) & dressed up in ‘special outfits’.
Jake – who’s become a bit camera-shy lately – was Mike the Knight, & Ellie was, ummm… actually, I’m not really sure.
A Hippy Rapunzel? The next Pixie Lott / Rita Ora / Paloma Faith?
Whatever she was, she looked pretty funky!
And I’d love to see what captions you could come up with for her!

Jake & Ellie turned 4 & we had a party!
Somewhat surprisingly it’s the first proper party we’ve held for them. Up until now they’ve just had quiet affairs with family: at 1 or 2 they were probably too young to appreciate a good knees-up anyway, & last year for their 3rd we’d only recently moved here to Wales & didn’t really know enough people to invite!
They’re very sociable now, especially since going to pre-school. We invited everyone in their class & a few others they’re friendly with from other classes & groups.
We hired a good-sized church hall & it’s just as well, as nearly everyone we’d invited turned up, plus the odd sibling or 3: many more than we’d had replies, which I hear is pretty typical.
Jake & Ellie were happy to turn up early while we were setting up, & enjoyed an early boogie!
Jake was heading on upstairs & asked for my company.
What that actually means is that he wanted me to play music from ‘Frozen’ on my ‘phone while he had a poo. That’s become something of a tradition here.
After ‘Frozen Heart’ (his favourite) & a little ‘For the First Time in Forever’ Ellie decided to join us.
“I’m not Ellie, my name is Shakora”
I don’t even know where she gets this one from.

This is from a trip to Cardiff’s Techniquest last week. Playing with Water! And with Buttons! Sounds a bit like 3-year-old Heaven to me!
But can you come up with a witty, profound or just plain silly caption for the picture? I’d love to hear it! Just leave it in the comments below.
Then click on the little boy’s head here & you will be magically transported to the funsome Mammasaurus’ blog for many more pictures crying out for a witty / pithy #satcap caption.
